HeartCode® on SimManager® Express
1:54
HeartCode® courses on the SimManager® Express platform provide a cost-effective solution to deliver consistent training with simplified administration. Allowing training to be adapted to different learning styles and schedules provides flexibility for both the students’ needs and time.
Quality
CPR is inherently inefficient; it provides only 10% to 30% of normal blood flow to the heart and 30% to 40% of normal blood flow to the brain even when delivered according to guidelines. This inefficiency highlights the need for trained rescuers to deliver the highest-quality CPR possible.1
Compliance
Today, training resources are being stretched more than ever. Trainers are overwhelmed, classroom space is limited, and schedules are conflicted. This can make it difficult to ensure quality CPR training and demonstrate adherence to protocols. Every patient deserves the best-developed workforce.
Cost
Traditional CPR training not only has a direct cost in terms of replacement staff and fees for instructors, but there are also indirect costs, such as the loss of time on the job, which can result in reduced patient care.
By using eLearning technology and standardized skills feedback, organizations can effectively achieve training goals and be confident that learners are armed with quality training that meets industry standards and saves lives.
HeartCode® is the official American Heart Association (AHA) self-directed eLearning program allowing students to take BLS, ACLS, and PALS online as an alternative to the traditional classroom-based courses.
This comprehensive program uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. In this environment, students apply their knowledge to patient cases and see the results of their decision in real time.
Once the online portion of the HeartCode® course has been completed, students practice and test their skills with an AHA instructor or by using the self-directed course with the HeartCode voice-assisted-manikin (VAM) system.
Training with VAMs provides students with real-time, objective audio feedback on their performance, adding a new level of realism and precision to CPR training. VAMs minimize the cost of replacement staff to cover classes while freeing up limited instructor time and resources.
The SimManager® Express platform is the easiest and most efficient way to deliver self-directed learning initiatives such as HeartCode BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Administrators can create student and group assignments, deliver content, and report on student progress and completions.
To make the maintenance of this training program even easier, additional Services are offered, including automated card processing and a sustainment program for manikins.
Students who had the HeartCode course and practiced CPR on VAMs had significantly more compressions with adequate depth (p < 0.0001) and ventilations with adequate volume (p < 0.0001) than did students trained by instructors.
